From the LA Times -- a man who stopped his car directly in front of a group of bicyclists in an attempt to injure them has been sentenced to five years in prison. It was apparently pretty egregious.

A police officer told jurors that Thompson said shortly after the crash that he slammed on his brakes in front of the riders to "teach them a lesson."

And yet most cyclists I know are already aware that cars are bigger than them, and that drivers can be morons.

Yeah, apparently slowing down Mr. Look At Me I'm A Doctor while he was on his way to work was worth dislocating someone's shoulder and smashing in someone else's face.

He's going to be late to work for some years now, and I hope he uses that time to contemplate how best not to be a complete jerk.
