Looking sharp and riding comfortably.

A review of office-friendly bike clothes -- but the cost is pretty steep!

What do you find works well for you as bike-to-work (or meetings, or school, or whatever) clothing? I wear a lot of skirts and pants with a high synthetic content, myself, but would welcome other suggestions.

I think I'm lucky in that jeans and corduroy are acceptable workplace attire!

Well, this may not be exactly what you were thinking of, but I got one of those going-on-safari-type vests with all the pockets, and I keep the things I want to have on me for biking in it. It is a size larger than I would normally wear, so I can take it out of the coat closet and throw it on over anything I'm wearing. That way I feel free to wear clothes without pockets and pack a modest sized (or none at all) purse, because anything I could possibly need is in that vest. At my destination the vest slips off easily and there I am all dressed for success. *g*

I quite often wear bike shorts under work-type clothes.

I like synthetic-fiber pants and skirts for rainy weather because they dry quickly once I'm to work. (A regular raincoat covers the upper portions.) I have a pair of rubber rainboots, too.

If I wear a skirt, I safety-pin it to a scarf or headband around my lower thigh (or to my tights) to prevent embarrassment.

I swear by merino wool and layers for cold weather, and I swear by riding more slowly in warm weather.

That's about it, really. I can't justify special bike clothes.

I just change in the bathrooms at the office. Or, I did when worked at an office (up until 3 weeks ago). It's too hot in the summer not to change. So I carried my work clothes and a change of bra in my pannier, keep my work shoes (black flats) under my desk, and take 5 minutes in the morning to make myself presentable.
