Dreamwidth Velo Club

I think the Dutch bike probably epitomizes the "other kind" of bike riding, the kind that Americans have largely forgotten and left behind. It doesn't coexist comfortably with either car culture or sport culture. It is, in a word, un-American.

It's my hope that by being seen riding around an American city in that style, I'll help spread the message that active transportation is something almost everyone can do.
