My calculations suggested that it can be done in about a month of riding daily; this website confirms that.

I think it'd be awesome to do this someday.

Nope, my max is still day trips (and the last year, I've been working so much there's been precious few of those...) and an overnight camping trip last summer on the tandem with my older kid. SO MUCH WORK, trying to do self-supported camping, on a tandem, with a stoker who is three and a half feet tall -- I think by the time I had the bike packed up the whole rig weighed a bit over 100 lbs., which is a lot for me.

But I have aspirations! I just don't have time.

I've never done something that far, but I did a week trip two years ago and it was great. I biked about 400km from Hamburg to Amrum. Best vacation ever. This year I want to do something like it again.

I biked across the Netherlands, once, but somehow I don't think that's really the same thing. *g*

Some friends of mine did something like this - started in Ontario, rode down and across the USA, then across half of Australia too. They wrote about it here.
